Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale Protection Districts

In June 2011, the Minister for Urban Development, Planning and the City of Adelaide released a discussion paper called Protecting the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale and asked for comments from agencies, community groups and individuals with regards to the proposed legislation.  Based on these comments, in September the Minister introduced draft legislation to Parliament titled Character Preservation (McLaren Vale) Bill 2011 and the Character Preservation (Barossa Valley) Bill 2011 which is on public consultation for 6 weeks from Tuesday, 28 September to 19 December 2011.

The Minister has also introduced Interim Authorisation to the affected Development Plans to reflect the legislation immediately.  Provided the Bill is passed in Parliament, the affected Development Plans will be Amended accordingly.
